What does EHEDG mean?

WHAT IS THE EHEDG CERTIFICATE FOR?

Optimal hygiene is very important in the food industry, mainly to prevent deterioration or contamination of products. To promote this, the European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group (EHEDG) has been established.

EHEDG provides guidelines that production equipment must comply with within the food industry. This includes, for example, that no parts of the process component may remain behind in the product. The product should also not accumulate in blind spots.

EHEDG certification assures you of pumps that are easy to clean, minimizing the risk of deterioration or contamination of the product to be pumped.

WHY BUY PUMPS WITH EHEDG CERTIFICATION?

At the moment, producers are not yet obliged to use process components with EHEDG certification. Incidentally, pumps that meet the EHEDG certification bring great advantages. This includes: simple and fast CIP cleaning without dismantling, longer shelf life dates and the prevention of deterioration or contamination of the product to be pumped. In addition, it is expected that EHEDG certification will become mandatory within the food industry.
